Cobra-cms makes full use of .NETs ability to easily create and deploy business Components and UI Controls. Cobra-cms presents a clear object model (API) that enables the easy creation of menu controls and the Integration into wider e-service offerings.
Page model: Cobra-cms extends the ASP.NET Page class to provide a reference to a CMS session object which provides a rich set of properties and methods enabling developers to create content rich applications.
System database: The System database holds all Cobra-cms settings along with multi language text and HTML strings which can be used in Cobra-cms skins. When a site visitor changes the language of the site, the specific language value is automatically retrieved thus presenting the page fully translated into the new language.
Metadata: can be easily created for site members and content pages. Metadata fields can be simple text boxes, drop down list boxes or check boxes. Metadata can be easily accessed in Cobra-cms skins. Developers can use Metadata to customise and personalise page content.
Multiple database: Cobra-cms runs on both Microsoft Access and SQL Server databases. It will be possible to port Cobra-cms to other database platforms in the future.
Hosting: Runs on 3rd party web hosts with a simple installation process.
Cobra-cms uses the power of .Net to allow rapid customisation and integration into a wider web architecture. Controls and the rendering namespace allow web site skinning. An admin web service allows exchange and synchronisation of common user data.

The cobra-cms admin & authoring application can run over a 56k dial up internet connection. However, we recommend a broadband service for medium to heavy usage. Cobra-cms is capable of supporting approximately 100 concurrent users. In a production environment this figure is dependant on a number of factors such as the host server, available band with etc.
From extensive benchmark testing, Cobra-cms has served between one and two hundred page impressions per second without any caching. When page caching is enabled, this performance increases to between 600 and 800 page impressions per second. We are confident that Cobra-cms is an extremely fast content management system that will hold its own against many far more expensive CMS platforms.
Minimum Specification for Server/developer workstation
Memory footprint: Cobra-cms uses object caching for a site's menus. A web site with 1000 menu items will require approximately 1MB of Ram. Note this figure is an approximation, adding more menu items will naturally lead to a bigger footprint.
